Trail Magic!

I’m staying at the Laughing Heart Hostel in Hot Springs, NC. This morning we woke to this view. Snow in the mountains!

The view if the mountains this morning above Hot Springs. Eeek! Glad I was safe and warm inside.

We are told there is a foot of snow on Max Patch, which I crossed just a few days ago. Wow!  Heavy wind today for my zero.

Last night we we had trail magic from Johnny K, Bluebird, and her husband Chef. The first 2 hiked the trail in 2006.

Chef cooks up burgers, hot dogs and chili. I was particularly fond of the salad and fresh fruit--can't carry those on the trail!

  1. Wow Beth. I was in Asheville overnight and the wind and rain were fierce! The snow in the mountains did look beautiful. Glad you were warm and dry. I’ve got my sister reading your blog. We are rooting for you!

  2. That first photo is stunning! I love googling the hostels and dream of the cozy green rolling hills of the east. Throwing heaps of hopes for health your way (((HUGGGGG)))

  3. Hi, Beth! It’s great to hear from you. Spring is getting a late start it seems. Maybe that’s a good thing in the long run, but I know it’s tough right now. Still cheering for you down here and still hoping we can rendezvous somewhere along the way. Stay warm!
