First Bite: Sapori di Napoli, downtown Decatur

I love pizza. Who doesn’t? Sapori di Napoli serves authentic Neapolitan style pizza from folks born and raised there. What I noticed first was the personal attention. The service was very good, particularly considering they were swamped with children’s birthday parties at the moment my friends and I walked in. They asked us to sit and let them wait on us, rather than order at the counter as usual, since they were so busy. Very refreshing.

There’s a lovely outdoor patio and if it ever stops raining, it will be the perfect spot to enjoy a pie. Don’t miss this place. I’ll be back.

We ordered the Margarita, which is the way to really test authenticity. This was perfect. We added spec and it was the perfect choice.

Dessert: sponge cake soaked in lemoncello, then "iced" with lemon infused ricotta. YUM! They also have gelato this summer.
